How to bring balance to disturb Doshas and Agni (Digestive fire)

Ayurveda follows the laws of nature. A lot of this comes naturally to us as common sense. Its emphasis on balance, such as like increase like and contradicting qualities, brings balance. For example, treating heaviness with lightness in being overweight means avoiding heavy, fatty, oily, and greasy food. And, eating light calories food such as veg, fruits, lean protein, etc.

Bring balance to disturb Vata dosha

    • Vata is about movement and irregularity; it’s cool, dry, quick, and rough. Elevated Vata is pacified by practicing opposite qualities such as regularity, stability, heating, oily, slow, and smooth.
    • The most important thing in bringing balance to Vata is Regularity. If Vata is disturbed, try to follow a routine in your day-to-day life.
    • Perform grounding activities such as going for a walk in the countryside, spending time in contemplation, or journaling your thoughts.
    • Eat warm, nourishing, soupy food.
    • Relax regularly and listen to classical or calming music.
    • Performing oil massage with heating oil. Oil massage should become your friend if you tend to have elevated Vata dosha. Ayurveda recommends Sesame oil for the oil massage.
